Char is a 3D open world survival/exploration game designed in Unity. The game features an infinitely generated procedural world (similar to Minecraft) that allows players to endlessly explore the surroundings and unique wildlife. The player's goal is to survive as long as possible in the odd landscape of the game. The game features a basic health and hunger system, as well as a crude crafting system. The design goal of the game was to design a game with emergent gameplay. The way we approached this design goal was to design a world that was fully interactive and to minimize the need for GUI menu screens. Furthermore, the game features a fully dynamic heat system that is used as the main mechanic for driving the emergent gameplay. As a result, the player has the ability to manipulate their surroundings in a various amount of creative ways to achieve their goal of survival. Naturally, we couldn't escape the entertainment that comes from playing with fire (in a safe and virtual environment), so we designed some inhabitants to help spark some chaos into the world as well.

Aurora: Race Against Time

Aurora is an intergalactic, 2D realtime strategy game designed in Game Maker Studio 2. The goal as the player is to manage an entire planet within a star system, and develop it's civilization's resources and technical advancement in order to sucessfully migrate the inhabitants of the planet away from the deadly black hole consuming the parent galaxy. Players have the freedom to choose their starting planet based on the constellation the star system resides in. Specific constellations bear unique benefits or drawbacks in terms of resource abundance and civilization traits, which could influence this choice. Players can also travel to planets outside of their local solar system to explore different civilizations and gather unique resources to further increase their development as a species, and ultimately escape the deadly fate of the supermassive black hole.

Goomba Combat

Goomba Combat is a 2D local multiplayer game designed in Game Maker Studio 2. It was designed as a 2D replica of the Mario Party 10 mini-game 'Goombrat Combat'. The game features a retro 8-bit art style inspired by the original sprite-sheets from the original Super Mario Bros. games.

FRITZ

Card Game
2018

FRITZ is a card game designed to promote multicultural awareness towards players. You can play with up to 6 people. The game includes 52 country cards, each complete with their own unique cultural points compiled from various studies on the internet. Players will battle each other using the country cards, while events emerge during gameplay that will create scenarios that may affect the culture points of each card. The last player standing wins.
